Pariwisata Pendidikan: Potensi Study Tour dan Research Tourism di Indonesia

Pariwisata pendidikan (educational tourism) merupakan bentuk pariwisata yang berorientasi pada pembelajaran, baik melalui kegiatan study tour maupun research tourism. Artikel ini bertujuan menganalisis potensi, manfaat, dan tantangan educational tourism di Indonesia melalui tinjauan literatur dari berbagai sumber akademik yang relevan periode 2021–2024. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa study tour berfungsi sebagai metode pembelajaran kontekstual yang mampu meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis, motivasi belajar, dan keterampilan sosial peserta didik (Afriani et al., 2024; Amelia et al., 2022; Fitria, 2024). Sementara itu, research tourism menekankan kegiatan penelitian lapangan yang memanfaatkan kekayaan biodiversitas, budaya, dan sosial Indonesia sebagai laboratorium alam yang mendukung pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan sekaligus memberikan kontribusi nyata bagi masyarakat lokal (Basri et al., 2022; Kong, 2021). Manfaat educational tourism mencakup dimensi pendidikan, ekonomi, serta sosial-budaya, dengan kontribusi yang relevan terhadap SDG 4 (Quality Education) dan SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Namun, implementasinya masih menghadapi hambatan berupa keterbatasan infrastruktur, biaya partisipasi, minimnya integrasi dengan kurikulum formal, serta rendahnya kapasitas sumber daya manusia di destinasi wisata (Damiasih & Samudra, 2022; Sormin et al., 2022). Artikel ini merekomendasikan pengembangan educational tourism berbasis kolaborasi multisektor dengan dukungan kebijakan, digitalisasi, dan mekanisme benefit sharing yang berkeadilan.
